Steven Wybenga lives in Morongo Valley - immersed and surrounded by the beauty and mystique of the hi-desert.  He works as a full time Registered Nurse for a local hospice agency and paints daily to find his center and to capture and honor the natural beauty of the desert.  HIs landscape paintings are an interpretation of this vast and beautiful but threatened desert.

Artists have long documented our stunning desert, drawing attention and awareness to the public of this ever changing land.  The desert remains at risk from human exploitation, fire, pollution and climate change.  The responsibility to advocate the desert ecosystem rests in all of our hands. 

He has had the opportunity to paint under such accomplished artists as Jean Henry, Sharon Pearson and Nina Wisniewski of San Francisco; Bruce Weber, Jessica Schiffman, Terry Masters, Elaine Mathews from the Coachella Valley and Chloe Allred from Yucca Valley.
